In 1992, Francoise Hughier is in Bamako, where she mmets Seydou Keita and discovers his work. Hughier brings back some works which are immeditaly exhibited in Rouen then Arles. In 1994, Hughier creates "Les Rencontres de la Photo de Bamako", including Malick Sidibe. Hughier's expertise in the discovery and the development of African photographers has played a crucial role in the success of their careers. This work was part of Hughier's private collection.
