Ivan Terestchenko (b. 1958) is a French multidisciplinary artist, best known for his photography for fashion magazines.
Terestchenko sculpts small ceramic figurines which depict young gods of Olympus, modern Apollos who evolve in a neoclassical universe of columns, capitals and shells. The peculiarity of these enamelled terracotta figures is that they are flat like the cut-out figures of a Chinese shadow theatre and that their outlines have an unfinished appearance. If their representation seems naive, the composition, the care taken in the reproduction of floors and architecture and their fragility make them precious decorative objects. Some also have a practical function: lamps, office sets, boxes, planters, mirrors.
