Originally opened in 1921 as the Gotham Theatre with 2,500 seats, designed by architects Carlson & Wiseman. In 1937, it was renamed the Del-Mar Theatre under the management of Harris Theatrical Enterprises and eventually showed only Spanish-language movies before closing in the 1960s. It then became a dance hall, a disco, and was finally converted and subsequently used by various retailers such as McDonalds and T-Mobile.
