Maryam Eisler (b. 1968) is an Iranian-born, London-based photographer, editor and art patron. She produces delicate black and white images depicting the female form - the Sublime Feminine - through plays on light. Eisler's first photographic series, titled Searching for Eve in the American West, was presented at Tristan Hoare in 2016. Her second major series, Eurydice in Provence, followed in 2017. Tristan Hoare presented her most recent series of black and white photographs titled Imagining Tina: A Dialogue with Edward Weston at the gallery in early 2019.

 

In 2014, Eisler was included on Artnet's list of the '100 Most Powerful Women in Art' for her art collection, and named one of 'the Most Influential Women in the European art world' for her publications on Iranian and Turkish contemporary art. 

 

Eisler holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from Columbia University. She has held executive editorial roles on various arts publications and is also a member of the Tate International Council and co-chair of Tate's MENAAC acquisitions committee. She is also a trustee of the Whitechapel Gallery, on the advisory board for Photo London, and a nominator for the Prix Pictet Photography Prize.
